California Pacific Medical Center Master Plan - San Francisco, CA
The California Pacific Medical Center's reconfiguration of services and facilities, creating a new three-campus delivery system in the city of San Francisco. This is an outgrowth of the tri-campus reorganization strategic initiative coupled with the requirements of the state of California's Seismic Safety Act.
An essential part of this program is the redesign and retrofit of buildings to comply with California's Hospital Seismic Safety Act while at the same time working with the needs and concerns of the neighboring communities. What began in the 19th century, as three separate institutions located along the hilltops just west of the city will become in the 21st century an interconnected network of medical centers that integrates into urban design and medical planning concepts through participatory planning planning process
